After almost a year of use, it still works well. However, if it gets too cold outside to like 20F, the wheel freezes. I have to warm it up. I charge the battery inside so the battery is warm. It goes slower in the cold but once it gets around 30F it gets better range and goes faster. It doesn't reach 25mph on flats anymore. It won't keep a consistent speed if you full throttle it and hold up the wheel to spin it. It engages and then dies down. Must have something to do with the controller. I have over 3000 km on the odometer so it's probably almost 3000 miles. If you consider this motor, it's good, but it would be ideal with another motor or just get a 3000 watt if you want speed. 16 min to now 23 min average to travel 6 miles every day. Average speed is 31kmph now.

Very Impressive! I purchased this kit last month and it runs smoothly. Easy acceleration with the thumb throttle. Never had issues with it! I'm thinking of buying again for my spare bike. My friends are also impressed with this kit.

1000w system on trike I am a 74yr old man walking difficulties(no car) busses give limited mobility. I mounted the 1000w motor system on a Schwinn Trike. I live in a hilly town. The motor system carries me up most hills with little or no peddeling. Now I am able to go places I would not be able to go before.

Best choice I ever made. I have a Schwinn Beach Cruiser bike. Itwas a pretty heavy bike to ride, especially going up hills. I live in a very hilly area. I decided to look at addinga motor of some sort to assist me in going up those hills. I looked at a lot of different options from different vendors. I happened to find GigaByke advertisingdifferent options from gas motors to electric bike motors. I chose the GigaByke 26 48v 1000w Pro Series 7 -Speed Rear Wheel Electric Bike Kit + Battery.Itwas just what I needed. When I received my purchase I received the battery firstby USPS. Then I received the bike kit by UPS. Both arrived in good condition, and I was ready to install the bike kit. Good instructions were provided and I got good help from YouTube videos. After assembly was complete, I connected the battery cable to the controller, turned on the battery switch, and turned on the control panel. It lit up. Then I raised therear wheel of the bike off the floor and pressed the throttle control. The motor started. I was a happy camper.I have ridden the bike for several weeks now and haveover 200 + miles on the odometer. It has plenty of power to get me up the hills. I have to be very careful with my speed as not to exceed 20 mph speed limit for electric bikes.It is fun to ride. I think it can go a bit faster if I am careful not to get a ticket.

Very Nice Kit...Has everything! I bought this kit on a Black Friday Deal, and was a bit unsure.I did a lot of research previous to purchasing this, but it was such a good deal, and the kit had everything I was looking for.I took a chance and got this, but I was pleasantly surprised.The tire that comes on the rim is very nice quality, and heavy duty.The spokes on the rim are HUGE, and very strong looking.Reminds me of my motorcycle's spokes.The battery has USB for charging a phone.It has an LED battery gauge, and a lighted power button too!The charger is very nice with heavy duty cords too.The display is a very nice touch too.I have had other electric bike kits in the past, but without any display.This display shows real time speed, distance, elapsed time, and battery level, as well as other information, and it does it with a very bright and visible back lit (Blue Indiglo) screen.The battery is very nice, the mount is really cool that it slides into, and it locks on.It comes with 2 keys.The controller is pretty big, and the controller bag I received with the kit seems like it was wrong (for a smaller style controller), I could not figure out how it was supposed to work.I managed to make it work, but I know it's not right, and had to modify it, and I will be replacing it with something else sometime soon, but for now I modified it and it works fine.I did not use the pedelc setup, I just used the thumb throttle, and I prefer this.It's pretty powerful, and gets going just fine.I always help and pedal with it, I never just throttle without pedaling.It goes very well, and of course goes a lot faster than you could go on a bike without a motor, and it's pretty quiet.It makes a little ""whirrrr"" sound, but nothing bad or obnoxious.Overall, it's very fun!I have taken it for a ride and did 14.8 miles before returning home, and it had One Bar of Power left on the controller, but had 2 or 3 bars left on the battery LED, so I am not sure how much farther I could have gone, but I imagine another mile or two at least.The area I ride in has lots of hills, and is not a flat area at all.You could no doubt go even farther in a flat area.I can't wait to use this kit some more, and to ride to work and back, which is why I got it, so after doing my work commute I will have to do an update, but so far I am loving this kit!!!

I like it. I recently purchased the kit for myself. I was impressed with the quality of the kit and all that was included. The rear wheel included the tire and inner tube. The rim and spokes are of heavy duty material. The controller is also of good quality as well as all the other components. After assembly was complete, it was time for a test run. The run was very impressive. I live in a very hilly area. I found it can take the hills with no problem at all. I will not have to walk my bike to get to the top ever again. I can now go places I could not go to before.The hills are no longer a problem for me now.It is money well spent.

Very robust great value. Put this on a nice mountain bike, and I ride 12 miles each way back and forth to work.Very fast and powerful although a bit heavy.Really fun and able to reach over 28 miles per hour without peddling.Has revolutionized my commute.

nice product-good deal for the $ I installed this on a friends bike.It is well made and works great.For the money you can't beat the quality and performance of this kit.My buddy pedals the bike for exercise and when he tires he drives home under battery power.The front wheel motor has plenty of torque.I'm 230lbs and it pulls me up a hill effortlessly.The battery removes easily, it slides off its holder and locks in place with its key.The instruction booklet is a bit confusing and does not cover every aspect of installation perfectly but you can figure it out.Buy this kit and save a lot of money vs a premade electric bike.

SCHWINN MERIDIAN ADULT TRIKE CONVERSION This motor has plenty of power ! The trike weighs 101 pounds with the motor and battery. It tops out at 24 MPH on flat road. It goes up hills with no problem. I bought a case of water AND a case of beer and it went up-hill at 18 MPH !BEWARE ! The trike wants to turn over even without the motor so caution is the rule if you want to convert this trike.

nice product-good deal for the $ You do not need to remove the pedal crank assembly to install the magnetic sensor, this is only needed in Europe not the USA!Does not affect the computer controller in any way. The kit does not come with a sensor for the spokes, it is already built into the motor hub!Don't look at page 7 of the color pictured pamphlet is WRONG!Page 8 is correct on which side of the bike the front wheel motor wire exits the hub when you are SITTING ON THE BIKE!

Very good product. Will purchase another for my wife. I have purchased 3 different brands of electric motor kits.I live in a very hilly area of Pa. . This brand by far has more torque than the others ( all 48 volt 1000 watt ) . I have just reached 1000 miles on this kit. All running great. The reason for 4 stars is that there was no rim strip, and there was a burr on the inside ofthe rim where the spoke hole is drilled. rubbed thru my tube. Other than that very nice kit.

This is just a response to Dr. Tim Dr. Timothy,First off the voltage 12 or 16....... How long will your charge last.12 or 16....... Make sense? Next thing is the watts out specifies the power aka top speed so the lower the slower :) with you weight the main concern would be voltage drain so pick the highest voltage .....next and last issueis simple . To reach the speed you seek choose the lesser wattage. So if I was setting you up out of my shop you would get a 16 volt 300 watt system ....maximum potiential my friend......hope this helps you sir. Fast cheep fun I bought one of these rear wheal kits on eBay.But it was 36V 350W, instead of 500W. Someone told me my kit was a 500W because of the volts and amperage I’m using it can’t be 350W. They tell me they marked down the wattage, so that it could be street legal. But I don’t know.It’s confusing with all the different Volts and watts. I didn’t want a higher wattage because I did not want to go over 20 mph or it would not be street legal in my state. I wish someone could explain the difference in the different volts and watts kits. I know the higher the wattage the faster the bike will go. I don’t understand what the different voltages do. I know the higher voltage will help reach higher watts, but the difference between a 36V or 24V 250W motor, I don’t understand the difference, if they’re both 250W, will 36V be more power or just that you can use a different battery? I bought the 36V because it is the same as golf carts and you can exchange some parts. I bought a 36V golf cart relay switch, so that I don’t get a big spark when I plug in the battery.What I don’t like about the kit I bought is it is a dog at lower speeds. It doesn’t kick in until about 10 mph and then it will go quickly to 20 mph. Much too fast for the city streets and sidewalks where I live. I would rather have more power to get up to 10 mph and then max out at 15 mph. I got the bigger wattage and voltage because I weigh 240 pounds. It has no problem going 20 miles an hour at my weight on the flat. But there’s hardly any long straightaways in my neighborhood for me to maintain those speeds.I really thought my weight would slow it down to 15 mph but all it did was make it a dog at lower speed.The kit came with all the wiring connected together. But I needed to put a spacer washer to keep the gear from rubbing on the frame. But the wiring harness prevents you from installing another watcher without cutting the wires and splicing them back together.The kid said it came with four flat shaft washers, but there was only two on mine and I have looked everywhere to find those flat shaft washers for the rear wheel.Are all the motors different or is it the controllers that makes the different voltage and watts?Did I buy the right kit for weighing 240 pounds? If you guys sell those flat shaft washers let me know.Is there any way to cut down my top speed and give me more power at lower speeds with a different controller etc, or will I have to buy a different kit?Tim
